DTU Series Overview
DTU (Data Transfer Unit) is a general product designation used for the MK-I and MK-II series in customer application scenarios such as elevator control systems. In these deployments, the DTU serves as a communication bridge between on-site equipment and a centralized management platform, enabling reliable data exchange over cellular or wired networks.
More broadly, DTUs are versatile industrial IoT gateways designed for environments where remote equipment must communicate with a central system in real time. They collect, convert, and transmit field data from devices such as controllers, sensors, and PLCs, ensuring seamless integration with cloud or backend servers.
Because of this capability, DTUs play a critical role in industries that depend on remote monitoring, automation, and real-time data acquisition. Typical applications include elevators, smart utilities, industrial machinery, and infrastructure systems—anywhere operational visibility, remote diagnostics, and continuous data reporting are required to improve efficiency, safety, and system responsiveness.
DTU Series MK-I
MK-I Introduction
DTU-MK-I is an elevator IoT terminal product developed by Uniquesky Intelligent
Technology Co., Ltd. It connects to the elevator main control board via RS232/RS485
interfaces, and collects and processes data output from the control board, including real-time status, service modes, faults, events, alarms, and statistics. The data is then
transmitted through a full-network LTE module to an IP-based data server. At the same
time, it can receive and process downlink data from the server and send it to the elevator control system via the serial port.
MK-I is equipped with a five-party intercom interface, capable of handling various incoming voice calls and connecting them to the elevator’s five-party communication system.

On the left-side panel, from left to right, there are an 8-pin port used for serial communication and connection to the five-party intercom system, six LED indicator lights, and a 12V DC power interface.
The right-side panel includes a SIM card slot, a system reset button, and an SMA connector for an external antenna.
